For us, diving is not only the most wonderful hobby in the world, but also a way to share the fascinating underwater world with you. To ensure we can show you the best possible impressions on Instagram and here in our blog, we have gradually built up our photo and video equipment. In this post, we'll introduce you to our equipment – from cameras to lighting – and provide links so you can find the products directly.
Our main camera for photos: OM System Tough TG-7 with Inon flash and macro lenses
Why we use it: Robust, waterproof and perfect for underwater photography – with an external Inon flash to bring out the colours even at greater depths.
Advantages: High image quality for macro and wide-angle shots, reliable when travelling, compact handling. The macro lenses can be attached underwater – practical and flexible.
Our usage: Favourite camera for photos – from small nudibranchs to coral landscapes.
Our video camera: DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro
We have just purchased this one and will be testing it extensively during our holiday in the Banda Sea/Forgotten Islands. After years of using a GoPro, we are excited to see how the DJI Osmo Action compares.
Why we use it: Compact, extremely stable and, with its underwater housing, ideal for high-quality video recordings.
Advantages: 4K recordings, vivid colours, easy to use, little post-processing of videos.
Our usage: Moving scenes such as schools of fish, reef panoramas or even action shots when entering the water.
For creative perspectives: Insta360 X3
We've had the Insta360 X3 for over a year now and love the wide range of possibilities it offers, even if editing sometimes takes a little longer.
Why we use it: With 360° technology, we can capture exciting angles that are not possible with traditional cameras.
Advantages: All-round shots, flexible editing later on, perfect for social media content.
How we use it: Surprising perspectives during dives or when entering the water.

Light is essential: OrcaTorch ZD710 MK2
We will have the opportunity to thoroughly test this lamp during our next holiday in October 25. We are excited to try out the lamp's functions, especially during our night dives.
Why it's important: Colours quickly fade underwater – light brings them back.
Advantages: Strong luminosity, reliable battery life, long range.
Our usage: Primarily for video recordings and close-ups with bright colours.
Our drone: DJI Mini 3
Why we use it: To capture impressive shots not only underwater but also above water – whether from boats, islands or spectacular coastlines.
Advantages: Very compact and lightweight, 4K video quality, easy to take with you when travelling.
Our usage: Aerial shots of diving spots, islands, safari boats and landscapes that provide the perfect backdrop for our holiday adventures.
Accessories that make the difference
Underwater housing: For reliable shots at any depth. It is worth using the original housing here, as it works seamlessly with other accessories.
INON macro lens: Perfect for tiny critters, such as Shaun the sheep nudibranch.
AOI UCL-03 close-up lens: Can be attached to the DJI Osmo Action 5 pro with an adapter. Ideal for macro shots with action cams.
AOI UWL-03 wide angle lens: Can be attached to the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro with an adapter. Ideal for wide-angle shots with action cams. We have these new and will also be testing them extensively.
Arms & mounts: Flexible, lightweight and stable for various setups.
Conclusion
Our equipment has grown over the years – starting with a small action cam and now including a setup that satisfies both macro enthusiasts and wide-angle fans. Whether it's photos with the TG-7, videos with the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro or creative perspectives with the Insta360 – we have the right camera for every situation.
